DON’T WORRY ABOUT CALCULATIONS IN OUR VIRTUAL TRAINING COURSES

Wilkinson Coutts Have You Covered!

We are used to delegates feeling worried about some of the calculations that are part of ASME and API courses. If you train with Wilkinson Coutts you can be assured that:

We keep it simple. We only cover calculations that appear in exam questions, not baffle you with stuff that looks impressive but is not necessary.

We break it into steps. Step-by-step working is particularly important in virtual training.

Our trainers are inspectors and engineers, not college maths teachers. We help you through, not try to trip you up.

This one-page guide sets out the three ‘types’ of calculations that appear in ASME/API codes. If you can understand these principles you’ll do fine on our virtual courses.

A Note On API Code Calculations

It is easy to be put off by the way that some calculations are presented in API codes. Don’t worry, it’s just a matter of presentation: US documents (API RP 579 is a good example) present calculations differently than in Europe and some other countries. You will find the underlying principles straightforward once we’ve explained the layout and terminology.
