The API Source Inspector Fixed Equipment (SIFE) certification programme, developed in collaboration with industry experts, is designed to qualify professionals responsible for supplier quality surveillance. This vital role ensures that equipment and materials meet rigorous quality standards before being used in critical operations.

The course aligns with the API SIFE Inspector Certification Program (ICP), which is based on a comprehensive range of documents from five authoritative organisations:

• American Petroleum Institute (API)
• American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
• American Welding Society (AWS)
• American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT)
• Society for Protective Coatings (SPC)

These organisations produce a variety of standards, each with unique structures and content. As a result, the API SIFE exam evaluates the applicant’s core understanding of key standards, codes, reference documents, and practices related to source inspection, manufacturing processes, and the tools and methods used in inspections.
