HRSG In-Service Inspection Online Training

Overview

The HRSG In-Service Inspection course is designed to meet the specific needs of pressure inspectors working in onshore power plants, with a focus on statutory and integrity inspections of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and conventional power boilers.

This online training experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the engineering processes involved in the in-service inspection and testing of pressure plant equipment used in power plants, such as Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT), HRSGs, and waste-burning boilers.

The global objectives of this course are to:

Provide a structured training platform for existing and new inspectors specialising in boiler operation and inspection

Enhance the knowledge of less-experienced inspectors and engineers

Enable staff to develop proficiency in power station and pressure system inspection disciplines, demonstrating their expertise to clients and external bodies

By completing this course, you will improve your understanding of:

Boiler equipment covered under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSRs)

Terminology used in power plant equipment and inspection requirements

Principles of engineering materials, particularly those used in HRSG design

Pressure-relief valve principles and inspection/testing requirements

Specific knowledge on CCGT/HRSG damage mechanisms and failure modes

Inspection guidance for Written Schemes of Examination (WSEs) and key inclusions
