Word(s) of the day

NEW! API 579 Fitness For Service eLearning  – WILKINSON COUTTS WORD(S) OF THE DAY

Following on from the announcement yesterday of our NEW API 579 Fitness For Service ELEARNING training course, today’s Engineering Word of the day has to be….

‘Damage’

1. The deterioration of a component or structure in fault or accident conditions, reducing or preventing its ability to perform its intended function.

2. The accumulation of defects or microcracks in the microstructure of a body loaded monotonically or in fatigue, which weakens the body and can lead to crack propagation and failure.

It’s inevitable that some pressure equipment will be subject to damage during its lifetime, either through environmental driven conditions such as corrosion or through external events such as impact damage.

Our eLearning course focusses on the API RP 579 /ASME FFS-1 level 1 assessment methods that can be used by inspectors and engineers alike to provide a screening assessment with some of the original design code conservatism removed.

This practical course will provide delegates with the knowledge to immediately implement the methods taught.
